In a story that should be filed under €we just can't make this stuff up€ A resident of Kearns, UT, a suburb less than a half hour outside of Salt Lake City, UT, was charged with burglary, after breaking into an acquaintance's home and eating $100 worth of food. Yes that is correct, like a wild animal meandering into a home through a cracked window, this burglar crept into a home of someone he knew, unbeknownst to them, and had a feast. I believe the term to describe such a brazen act, and overall lack of reverence for someone else's property is the clear cut definition of having a pair of €brass ones.€
If that wasn't enough, the audacious attitude towards other people's property aside the burglar was also a bit dense when it came to his ambiguity. Police said the homeowner knew who the burglar was because he left behind a duffel bag with his name on the tag, along with two piles of clothing that the acquaintance recognized. So just to summarize here, a man breaks into the home of someone he knows, a fact that is completely unknown to the homeowner, decides to eat over $100 dollars worth of food (which is one heck of a lot of food, by the way), drops his bags which have self identification on them, then proceeds to leave the home without the bags with the incriminating information on them. Wow.
According to reports, the neighbors later identified the man from his jail booking photo...the duffel bags with his name on them probably helped a bit as well.
This man is lucky there was not a Utah home security system, as tripping a home alarm system could truly have been the icing on the proverbial cake...which he probably would have ate too.
This is the latest in a long line of stupid, clueless individuals commuting criminal acts across the country. It is almost as if these dummies are trying to out-do one another, as if they are competing for a prize of some kind to crown the king of the criminal crackpots. Chalk it up to foolishness, or a lack of common sense, but most people's fleeting thoughts about breaking the law are quickly dismissed. So perhaps these people are not foolish after all, maybe they are just missing that little voice in their head that says: €...are you kidding me?!€
