Calgary, AB
This weekend Molson Coors is teaming up with partners across Alberta for GIVE-R, a program to raise funds for those impacted by the recent fire in Slave Lake. Through a series of live events and donations from the sale of Molson Canadian and Coors Light products, Molson Coors aims to raise over $25,000 to help affected families, donating the funds to the Slave Lake Community Rebuilding Fund. GIVE-R was developed by Molson Coors in 2006 as a way to enjoy a pint and enjoy some live music while at the same time raising funds for local charities.
"We are actively rallying support for those who've been impacted by the devastation in Slave Lake" says Scott Cooper, senior vice president, Molson Coors. "Our team has over 3,000 employees in Canada, and each is a passionate member of their own community. In seeing fellow Albertans in need, we're glad to be in a position to try and help."
Beginning with Liquor Depot, Liquor Barn and many independent retail locations across the province, Molson Coors will donate $1 from the sales of featured packs of Molson Canadian and Coors Light throughout the weekend of June 17th -19th. "We are pleased to partner with Molson Coors to support Slave Lake with the rebuilding of their community. We have been proud members of the business community in Slave Lake for several years and we are strongly committed to the citizens of Slave Lake and our staff." says Scott Morrow, chief operating officer, Liquor Depot and Liquor Barn.
Additionally, Molson Coors will host live GIVE-R events in six cities, inviting the community to attend and help raise funds for the cause. The proceeds collected at the live events through donations, beer sales and live auctions will also go to SLCRF relief efforts.
