- 1). Write the numbers 1 through 9 on a piece of paper horizontally. Starting with "A," write one alphabet letter under each number until you reach the number nine. Start a new line underneath that line and continue your alphabet where you left off working your way from 1 through 9 again. Drop down a line one more time and finish out the alphabet underneath what you've written. If you've done it correctly, "Z" will be underneath the number eight.
- 2). Write out your full name that you were given at birth. Even if your named has changed through marriage or other circumstances, work with your birth name to find the true meaning associated with your personality.
- 3). Consult the chart you created, locate each letter of your name, one at a time, and write the number that's above it underneath each letter in your name. For example, Joe Brown would be (J-1) (O-6) (E-5) and (B-2) (R-9) (O-6) (W-5) (N-5).
- 4). Add the numbers of your name together consecutively. For Joe Brown, it would be 1+6+5+2+9+6+5+5 = 39. Add the three and the nine from the 39 together to reach 12. Add the number one and two from the 12 together to equal three. This is your final number---the one that contains the meaning of your name.
- 5). Consult a numerology book or website to learn the meaning behind the number of your name.
