- 1). Select a plastic or metal stapler to accessorize. Choose one with flat surfaces, as opposed to one with many dips and curves that may make it harder to attach your decorations securely.
- 2). Choose flat-backed rhinestones in one or more colors to use on your stapler. Consider how often you use your stapler when choosing your faux jewels. If you staple frequently, or for long periods of time, select rhinestones with a smooth, rounded surface as opposed to those with many facets that may dig into your hand.
- 3). Select craft glue suited specifically for jewelry. Read the package to ensure that the glue you choose will act as an adhesive on plastic and/or metal, depending on which substance your stapler is made from.
- 4). Cover your work area with newspaper to prevent dripping glue onto any surface you wish to protect.
- 5). Place a short, thin line of glue horizontally across the surface of your stapler at one end. Firmly press your rhinestones onto the wet glue, one at a time, working carefully to align your jewels evenly. Continue until you've covered the top and sides of the stapler. Allow the rhinestones to set for the period of time specified on your glue.
- 6). Press the release lever on your stapler to allow the base to swing open so you can access it easily. Run one short strip of glue at a time on the base, and set your rhinestones in it one by one. Allow the glue to set for the specified amount of time.
