- The Arts in Education Artist Roster is a list of professional artists in West Virginia who are available to teach in various Arts in Education programs. The listing is a resource for schools, teachers and community organizations interested in learning about and participating in the arts. Artists on the roster must exhibit a master of their chosen art and have a history of successful teaching experience. Teachers and organizations may contact artists directly to plan and discuss projects prior to making a grant application. They may also recommend an artist new to the roster.

Schools, nonprofit organizations and community organizations with an arts focus may apply for Artist Residency grants. The grants may be for long-term or short-term residencies. Long-term residencies run from five weeks to one year, with short-term residencies running one to four weeks. Each residency should feature a curriculum-based program incorporating the skills and creative process of the artist. Artist fees and expenses are covered up to $12,000, with a 50 percent matching funds requirement from the applicant. - The Special Projects grant program provides funding for both new and continuing arts education projects in order to create and enhance arts curriculum and educational programs. Funds may be used for classroom arts workshops, after-school programs, expanding existing programs and adding materials to existing programs. Grants are for up to $150 for artists, materials or supporting consultants, with the applicant required to match grant funds on a one-to-one basis.
- The Artist Visit program provides funding for schools and other arts organizations to present visual, performing and literary artists. The program is intended to provide arts exposure to students. Artist visits may last from one to four days, with a maximum of four hours per day. Grants may fund visits from both local and out-of-state artists. Schools and organizations may request up to 50 percent of the visiting artist fees and expenses and must provide matching funds for the other 50 percent.
