- 1). Open Paint and click the "Paint" button in the top-left section of the workspace. Select “Properties.” Enter dimensions for the poster in the “Width” and “Height” boxes, such as “24” and “36” respectively. Click “Inches” in the “Units” section. Click the “OK” button.
- 2). Select a light colored square from the “Colors” section. Click the paint bucket symbol in the “Tools” portion of the ribbon and click anywhere on the poster to fill it with the background color.
- 3). Choose black or another easy to see shade from the “Colors” section. Click the “A” icon on the ribbon. Click the top of the poster to open the text tab.
- 4). Choose a font, such as “Showcard Gothic” or “Arial Black.” Increase the text size to 200 or your preferred headline font size.
- 5). Type the main poster headline, such as “Live Music Every Saturday Night” or “Featured Performance, Celtic Music, this Friday evening.”
- 6). Click below the headline and reduce the font size. Type the main information for the poster, which may be a date-by-date band schedule or a biography of the featured band the poster is advertising.
- 7). Click the bottom of the poster. Change to an eye-catching font color such as red, if desired. Type venue-specific details such as “Always 21+,” “18 and up allowed with ID,” “No weapons allowed,” “No cameras or recording,” “No tailgating,” “We serve alcohol” or “Call ahead for best seating.”
- 8). Click the Paint button once more. Click “Save As.” Type the name for the poster file and click the “Save” button.
