Although carbohydrates are a valuable source of energy, and are needed in controlled amounts to maintain a healthy body, too many carbohydrates in your diet will result in excess fat developing. The amount of energy you consume should be directly proportional to the amount of exercise you get.

This is considered one of the best meals for breakfast, especially if you workout in the morning. Oatmeal is the perfect source of energy and it's quickly digested by your stomach. Not only does it give you energy, but it's good for your heart as well. Studies show that oatmeal helps reduce cholesterol.
