- 1). Call Verizon by dialing *611 on your cell phone, or you can locate the appropriate local phone number on their website by entering your zip code (see Resources).
- 2). Enter your account details in their automated system and choose to speak with a customer support representative. Tell them you would like to cancel your account.
- 3). Visit a local Verizon office, which you can find by using the Store Locator feature on their website (see Resources). Return any equipment that is rented or otherwise required to be returned. Confirm your desire to cancel with the representative.
- 4). Pay any early termination fees or outstanding balances. Early termination fees can be as high as $375 for high-end cellular service, but you may not be required to pay a fee at all. The representative should be able to tell you more. If you cancel within 60 days of a significant change in the terms and conditions, you can protest the changes and cancel without an early termination fee.
