- 1). Follow the link to the Java site provided in the References section at the bottom of the page.
- 2). Click "Free Java Download."
- 3). Select "Save File" when asked if you would like to save the fil.
- 4). Double click the newly downloaded file. It will appear in either a "Downloads" pop up window or as an icon on the desktop.
- 5). Click "OK" and then "Run" when asked if you would like to run the program.
- 6). Click "Install" when the Java Installation screen appears.
- 7). Close out all programs using the Internet. This includes web browsers, Microsoft Outlook, instant messengers and iTunes. This is required because some programs are updated with Java, and this is not possible while the program is open.
- 8). Click "OK" when all the programs are closed. The installation will begin.
- 9). Click "Close" when a pop up window states the installation has completed.
