- 1). Place a clean cloth down on the table that you will be working on. Place the SKS onto the cloth and remove the clip from the chamber. Open the slide and remove the 7.65 round that is in side the chamber.
- 2). Turn the SKS rifle so that the opening where the clip goes is facing upward. Locate the two securing screws from the stock using the flat-head screwdriver.
- 3). Pull the SKS stock off of the gas tube and place the SKS stock in a clean, dry place for storage. Wipe the underside of the gas tube down with the cloth.
