"Wedding Crashers" star Owen Wilson is in talks to star in the remake of "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty" for Paramount Pictures and director Mark Waters ("Mean Girls").
Wilson would play Walter Mitty, an ordinary guy whose imagination allows him to experience all different sorts of adventures. Danny Kaye played the title character in a 1947 version of the story which was based on a short story by James Thurber.
Dick Vane will executive produce the film, with Samuel Goldwyn Jr and John Goldwyn producing the pic. Richard LaGravenese ("The Horse Whisperer") adapted the script which, according to The Hollywood Reporter, will remain true to the original story rather than to the 1947 film.
Owen Wilson will next be seen in "The Wendell Baker Story" directed by Owen's brothers, Luke and Andrew.
