Medical Staff Gifts

    • Give a medical staffer a gift that shows your appreciation.Hospital image by Raulmah?3n from Fotolia.com

If you have a friend or family member who works in the medical field, you might want to get him a work-related gift. Any person working in the medical field is faced with difficult, sorrowful and sometimes traumatic situations in which he must put his feelings aside and concentrate on delivering the best care possible for the patient. Let your loved one who works as medical staffer know how grateful you are for his hard work and perseverance on behalf of humanity.

    "Unwind" Box

    • Create an "Unwind Box" for a friend who works a medical staffer. This can be an old shoebox you cover with decorative paper or a photo storage box that you purchase from a craft store. Fill the box with items that will help the recipient unwind after a long and difficult day at the hospital or clinic. Some ideas include her favorite candy, a few bags of microwaveable pop corn, an uplifting medical drama on a DVD, a book of doctor or nurse jokes, a pair of fuzzy socks, a candle, and a coffee mug filled with tea bags. Spend some time coming up with creative names for the different items in the box, which you can write on self-adhesive labels. For example, on a box of tea, your label could be "Nurse's Nod-Off Tea." On a chocolate bar for a doctor, the label could read: "Doctor's Orders Chocolate...Take One a Day, Every Day."

    Medical Staff T-Shirts

    • If you are head of a medical staff, consider giving them matching T-shirts that list inside jokes about your department or why your hospital is the best place to work. You can design these T-shirts on an apparel design website and have them shipped to your workplace. Only use memories that are uplifting and entertaining, and avoid those that will embarrass staffers. You can title the back of the T-shirt "Top 10 Reasons Why We Love Smith Hospital." Then list the items, starting with item ten and arriving at item one.

    Cash Game

    • At an office party, host a "cash game" for medical staff. Place a skeleton diagram on the wall, and tape cash in varying positions on the skeleton. Ask trivia questions related to the areas of the skeleton where the money is positioned. The medical staffers who get the correct answers get to take the money off the skeleton and keep it to spend as they wish.
