- 1). Fill a spray bottle with 1 cup water and 10 drops lemon essential oil. Gently swirl the bottle in a circular motion to mix the contents. Lemon oil is naturally acidic, and will cut through tough hard water grime.
- 2). Spray the mixture directly onto the hard water spot and let it sit for 30 seconds. Rub the surface clean with a cloth.
- 3). Continue rubbing and applying the mixture until you have removed the hard water spot. Wipe the surface clean with a dry cloth.
- 4). Prevent hard water spots and stains by drying shower doors, bathtubs, faucets, and sinks whenever they become wet.
