How to Add Money to an Emerald Card

Adding fund with a Greendot MoneyPak

    • 1). Go to any CVS, Kroger, Kmart, Rite Aid, Walgreens or 7-Eleven to purchase MoneyPak reload cards. The cards cost around $4.95, in addition to the amount to be loaded to the Emerald Card. Purchase the card and make sure to keep the receipt, as some of the stores put the PIN number on there. The PIN is needed later to transfer the funds from the MoneyPak to the Emerald Card.

    • 2). Go to greendotonline.com and type in the required information. People who have never used the site will need to register to proceed with the load. This requires a valid email account and the creation of a password.

    • 3). Create an account, log in and go to the "add funds" link at the top of the screen. A drop-down menu will appear with an option to reload with MoneyPak. Go to that link and type in the Emerald Card number.

    • 4). Navigate to the next screen, where it will require the MoneyPak PIN number and the validation code that is shown on the MoneyPak to be typed in. Proceed to the next page, which will ask if the amount mentioned is valid. Select "yes" and move on. The Emerald Card will now have the funds added to it and they are instantly available for spending.
