Support For Your Depression

Sometimes you are falling down and need to find people to talk to.
What is important though, is not to find people who will enable, but instead to find people who will actually be able to help pick you up.
So you need to figure out who you have around you who can do that.
There are a few good options here.
The first, obviously, is a good friend.
Someone who you know will be able to listen and give you an opinion that you trust.
The best person for this would not be a significant other, because friendships are longer lasting on the whole.
This friend need not be someone local, and depending on your preference local might not be better.
Because it is someone that you don't see as often, the temptation to run might not be as high.
My first choice for someone to talk with is someone who lives 3000 miles away.
It allows me to tell her what is going on without feeling like I need to run to her.
When things are really bad, I go to my girlfriend who is a more constant presence in my life right now, and I can get immediate support - like a hug.
She is very understanding that I need to go call a friend a little later on.
The most important thing is to make sure that you have people who you can tell anything to.
Without this, you will never find comfort when you are having problems.
