Almost daily I get reminded that there is a key difference between those who are successful and make their business from home dreams come true, and those who aren't successful.
What is that key?
The successful have three critical characteristics I'm going to discuss in this article.
1. They make decisions quickly
2. They act on those decisions
3. They have a success mind set. They view a failure as just another step toward their ultimate success.
The unsuccessful don't make decisions quickly, if at all. They analyze the situation into the ground. They think about everything that could possibly go wrong. They wait or hesitate. They don't want to decide until things are perfect. They are afraid to make a decision about what they should do. As a result, they end up doing nothing.
Eventually, this habit of inaction destroys their dreams and makes them feel hopeless. If they don't make a decision, they don't have to take action. A series of non-decisions followed by no action leads to a "failure" mindset, not a success mindset. Do you know people like that? I know I do. In fact, to be honest, I used to have some of these characteristics. But, not any more!
The successful, in contrast to the unsuccessful, make decisions quickly. They believe the old saying "He who hesitates is lost". Or, as I like to say "He who hesitates is bossed"...bossed by their indecision. A successful person knows they can't let indecision boss them around and control their future. They gather all the information they can fast in order to make an informed decision, and then decide just as quickly. Do you want the freedom to do what you want, where you want, and when you want? Then don't let indecision boss you around.
The successful also act on the decisions they make to see what will happen. They know that the only way to know for certain whether or not something will work is to test it by actually doing it. They know that some things will work, and some things will not work.
The successful have a success mind set. They are focused on becoming successful in making money from home, or whatever else they really want to do. Failure to accomplish their dreams of a business from home is not an option. So what if 3 or 4 things out of 10 that they try don't work. To become a successful person, a €failure€ does not mean you have failed. And the successful have learned that truth. A failure just teaches you what didn't work and brings you one step closer to success.
Think of each effort as an experiment. Thomas Edison experimented with 1,000 different materials to use as the filament when he developed the light bulb. 999 of those materials didn't work very well, but, one material did work. He didn't consider any of those 999 experiments as failures. He thought of them only as steps to finally discover the one filament that did work.
Thankfully, you won't have to experiment anywhere near 1,000 times to achieve success in your own home based business. And, the decisions you make quickly can usually be tested at very little expense.
Decide what to do quickly. Act on that decision. Have a success mindset. Three characteristics that will almost guarantee your success in creating your own business from home.
