- 1). Mix 2 cups of sugar with 2 cups of boric acid powder. The ratio is not all-important, and if you don't have a measuring cup to make the measurements precise, you can eyeball the amounts, making them approximately equal.
- 2). Use a wide-mouthed funnel to pour the sugar/boric acid mixture into the plastic bottle. If you have asthma or other lung sensitivities, use a mask to prevent inhalation of the particulates.
- 3). Fill the bottle with water up to the neck. Screw the lid back onto the bottle, and shake the bottle around to mix the ingredients well.
- 4). Open the bottle and pour the liquid onto a ant hill. Pour the liquid around the perimeter of the base of the hill, as well as into the center.
- 5). Repeat the entire process for each ant hill in your lawn.
