10 Tips for Writing an Undergraduate/Graduate Research Paper

Research paper writing is a very crucial assignment for graduate or undergraduate students. Writing knowledgeable, articulated and scholarly research papers make students well-versed in research paper writing. Consequently, students begin developing original ideas out of their minds. However; yet some students fall short of the idea behind undergraduate research paper writing & fail delivering the assignment on time since they do not plan their research well.

In order to guide those students who fail to meet the standards of research paper writing; here are a few tips for them which they should follow to complete their undergraduate/graduate research paper on time:

Tip No 1: When selecting a topic of your graduate or undergraduate research paper; you should ensure that you choose the topic of your interest. Choosing a topic of interest will keep you motivated throughout your research paper writing assignment.

Tip No 2: Perform initial research in the beginning of your writing assignment to find out whether original data regarding the subject exists or not. You should make a mini proposal and consult with the supervisor to guide you how you should go along with your graduate research paper writing assignment.

Tip No 3: Select a research question for your research writing paper assignment by carefully analyzing significant areas for study regarding the subject of your interest. Try to come up with a research question that fulfills the criterion of suitability and acceptability.

Tip No 4: Develop a hypothesis on basis of your research question. Hypothesis will aid you come with the research aims and objectives which you should accomplish for carrying out your research work successfully.

Tip No 5: At first, you should perform a secondary research by thoroughly studying published books, articles, journals or articles related to your research topic. Review the literature and tell how the literature is going to help you throughout the research.

Tip No 6: Once you are done with the literature review, you should decide the methodology that you will be going to adopt for your research i.e. appropriate to the topic of study. Pick an appropriate methodology and decide the data collection methods for your research.

Tip No 7: Conduct the primary research to gather original data regarding the subject of your interest. For e.g. if research topic is related to culture-oriented topic; then, participant observation can be a good technique for research.

Tip No 8: Once you are done with the data collection process, you should start analyzing the data for accumulating results. Present results in form of table or charts according to the nature of your research findings.

Tip no 9: Results will aid you conclude whether your hypothesis was right or wrong. In conclusion, tell the readers what went well or what went bad with your research. You should also tell whether the objectives of research were achieved or not.

Tip No 10: If the research on the same subject is performed once again you should recommend what can be done to improve the obtained results. At the end of your graduate research paper, you should list down resources which you have utilized under the heading of references and bibliography.
