Safety is something that should be discussed as a group along with the planning process. Women are highly targeted however being aware and prepared will prevent you from being a victim. Here are some very important safety tips for women that you will need to know when traveling.
1. Although it may be tempting because of the savings, only use clearly visible company designated taxis. Avoid the unmarked car services that may actual be a danger zone.
2. Leave the three karat rings and Gucci at home. Really, leave your expensive jewelry, clothing and bags either at home or in the safe in your hotel room. The absolute best thing you can do is to leave them at home.
3. Skip the drink Mr. Charming buys for you ladies when you are out in the clubs. You never know if something was put in your drink and it is better to be safe then sorry. Say thank you with a smile, go to the ladies room and pour it down the sink! Also, be mindful of sitting your drink down unattended because Mr. Charming will walk by and drop something inside of it.
4. Always, stick together. If one person has to go to the rest room, she should not go alone. If one person wants to leave, remember safety first, everyone should leave together especially after a night of drinking.
5. Conversing with others is fun, but try not to vocalize that you are traveling alone.
6. When walking through the town at night, or the during the day, stay in well populated areas. At night, add well lit to that equation. Avoid dark, isolated areas.
