- 1). Make a loop at the end of the strand of yarn in your first color. Make chain stitches until your chain is as long as the width of your desired bedspread. Set the chain on the bed to measure the width.
- 2). Turn the piece around to work your first row. Skip the first three stitches, then make one double crochet in the fourth stitch. Double crochet all the way across until you reach the end of the row.
- 3). Chain three and then turn. Double crochet across this row. Continue adding rows until you reach 10 rows, not including the beginning chain.
- 4). Tie the end of the second color of yarn onto the strand of yarn at the end of the 10th row. Cut the first strand off. Double crochet 10 more rows in the second color of yarn.
- 5). Tie the end of the strand of color three to the end of the 10th row in color two. Cut the second strand off. Make 10 rows of double crochet in color three.
- 6). Repeat the striped pattern until your bedspread is the desired length. At the end of your final row, clip the yarn and pull it through the loop to fasten off.
- 7). Pull all the ends from changing colors through the stitches using a yarn needle or crochet hook. Weave the loose ends in until you can't see them anymore.
