- 1). Paint vines with the brown paint and medium paintbrush. Start by dipping the tip of your paintbrush in the brown paint. Paint a winding vine across the surface you are working on. Wash off your brush when finished.
- 2). Dip your medium paintbrush in the green paint. Paint leaves onto the vine in clusters. The leaves should have three points as a grape leaf would have in reality. Use several shades of green to get a more realistic look.
- 3). Paint your grapes. Grapes grow in clusters. Clusters should be wider on top with more grapes, then gradually narrow down with one grape at the bottom. Each row of grapes should be staggered so it has one less than the row above it. Scatter grape clusters around on the brown painted vines.
- 4). Add highlights or shadows where needed. Once the grapevines are finished, you can add a couple of finishing touches to make it look more realistic. Darker green leafs in the background can give it dimension. Parts of the vine that look as though they are behind grapes can be painted slightly darker, making them look as if they are being shaded.
- 5). Allow up to 24 hours to completely dry.
