- 1). Part your hair into three sections. Create horizontal parts that go all the way from the right side of your head to the left side and hold them in place with alligator hair clips.
- 2). Begin styling the bottom section of hair closest to your neck. Spritz this section with hairspray.
- 3). Use a curling iron with a one inch barrel to create a row of curls.
- 4). Loop each curl around your finger after it comes off of the curling iron.
- 5). Pin each curl into place with a hair clip and then spritz with an additional spray of hairspray.
- 6). Continue creating curls, working toward the top of your head. If you plan to have bangs in the front, separate at least one inch section of hair in the front of your head and curl it forward. Secure it with a clip.
- 7). Take out all of the clips except for your bang area. Gently brush through your curls to create full waves. Too much brushing will deconstruct curls completely, so do not brush for too long or too vigorously. Apply a shaping wax or other product of your choice along the top surface of your hair to reduce stray hairs and make your hair shiny.
- 8). Take the clip out of your front section of hair and style your bangs. Depending on the length of this section of your hair, you can brush shorter bangs forward or pull longer bangs back and secure with a barrette.
