- 1). Power on the console and insert the game disk, then ensure that your console is connected to the Internet.
- 2). Select "Start Game" from the game's main menu.
- 3). Select the character you wish to use in the game.
- 4). Select "Lobby Select" followed by "Free Battle." Free battles are the only game type that allow you to host your own game.
- 5). Scroll down to and select the "Create Game" option. This will bring you to a new menu screen.
- 6). Select "Game Name" and enter a name for your hosted match.
- 7). Select "Conditions" to bring up a menu allowing you to change the game and victory conditions for a game. Adjust these to your tastes, then continue to the "Rules and Map Settings" options.
- 8). Select the map and rules you wish to play the game with, then continue to the next step.
- 9). Adjust the rule settings in the next menu and continue.

Change the common settings, such as auto-aim or friendly fire, as desired. You are now finished setting up the game. Your friends can join your game by selecting its name after choosing "Join Game." Once you have enough players, simply start the game.
