For my son's birthday this past year I got my son his first bike.
He is only 4, so we put some training wheels on his bike so that he could learn to ride it without falling off and getting all banged up.
So I got to thinking how these training wheels are kind of like storage shed blueprints.
I know, it's kind of an odd comparison, but hear me out.
I make this comparison because I build storage and other types of sheds for a living.
The training wheels are there to guide him; to make sure he stays on a good straight path and does not fall off.
Storage shed blueprints do the same thing really - they are there to guide you and keep you on a clear path to getting your shed done.
And don't be intimidated by "blueprints.
" These are really just detailed storage shed plans.
The good ones help guide you by doing the following three things:

1. Step-by-step instructions - they give you detailed instructions on how to build your storage shed.
   This is important so that you don't leave anything out and build a professionally looking structure.
   
2. Materials list - good shed blueprints will provide you with a materials list.
   This is important so that you buy what you need and don't waste both time and money
3. Schematic drawings - these are included in good plans.
   This is important in my opinion because it give you a good reference visual with which to build from

So, just like when you were a kid riding a bike for the first time, you were probably scared to death that you were going to wreck and get hurt.
If this is the first shed you are building, then you may feel the same way - scared you will screw it up, or it will look bad, or that it is just too complicated.
But a good set of storage shed blueprints can be your training wheels to guide you through the process.
And just like the training wheels helped teach you to ride, good plans that have the above 3 qualities will keep you on a straight path toward a professional looking storage shed.
