Depersonalization Disorder - How to Treat and Eliminate Your Depersonalization

Depersonalization is a form of a dissociative disorder that is characterized by an individual losing his/hers sense of self-awareness.
When one is depersonalized he/she may feel like living in a dream, observing the world like a movie, feeling like a robot, being unable to recognize own face, objects may appear more distant, being unable to recall some memories, brain fogged and many more unpleasant effects.
Depersonalization is often accompanied with anxiety, panic attacks and depression.
The following text aims to help anxiety/depersonalization sufferers to face and resolve their condition by providing useful tips that I myself have tested.
When people first experience depersonalization they often think that they are going crazy, frightened that they might have triggered some mental diseases such as schizophrenia or are afraid of having some form of brain damage, however this is not the case.
Your perception has changed and because you perceive the world differently you also feel differently.
When someone is depersonalized, one usually lacks emotions, like there are not even any making it difficult to sympathize and so making it unpleasant to interact with others.
This emotional disconnection may be so intense that even if you for example saw an ugly car crash it would not even make you think about it because your internal suffering is so intense.
Some things you might want to try that might help with treating your your depersonalization: First of all, Thinking logically and rationally is essential in dealing with depersonalization, just tell yourself everything is fine and that you are completely normal, be sure of that you will feel better in no time, because that is the truth.
Very few things in our lives are permanent and the same goes for depersonalization, the prognosis for recovery from a depersonalization disorder is in fact quite good.
Supply your brain with essential supplements such as Omega 3, Vitamin B, Folic Acid or Magnesium.
These vitamins are necessary for your brain to function correctly and efficiently.
If your source of anxiety (depersonalization in other words is just an extreme form of anxiety) is chemical imbalance then it needs to be put back into balance either by eating supplements or foods containing the desired substances.
Exercise Exercising on a daily basis helps you to keep your anxious thoughts at minimum since running draws your attention away from anxious thoughts, and exercise in general promotes a better mood.
Occupy yourself, focus on something, an activity such as playing guitar, something that will take your mind off your anxiety.
Anyone suffering from depersonalization can get better if there is effort and belief.
From my own experience, the best medicine proved to be time and adapting new thinking and relaxation techniques.
It is important to have a source of information that is both correct and plentiful as you do not want to worsen your condition by making unnecessary mistakes (example: drinking alcohol to suppress underlying anxiety etc.
).
Just remember, no matter how intense or recent your depersonalization is, there always is a way back.
You just need to be patient and aware of how to proceed towards eliminating your depersonalization.
There are quite many steps you might want to follow in order to improve your state of mind and so get rid of depersonalization.
I have researched this disorder to a great extent since it kept bothering me and eventually found my way out of it for which I am very thankful.
Learning to think the right way can be quite tricky and many will need some help to get on the right track (reading anxiety related books and websites), even I did.
Correct supplementation and life habits also play a role in recovering from depersonalization as your brain is currently chemically imbalanced and needs to be fed with the right chemicals.
Books, web-sites can also play a huge role in recovery as they provide information necessary for readjustment of your way of thinking to a such extent that you will be able to handle your anxiety and depersonalization with ease, so do some research because the more information you have the faster and better you can solve the underlying issue.
Remember to live your life fully as you can, do not constantly concentrate on your problems because that will just drag you deeper into the whole issue resulting in more anxiety and depersonalization.
