Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan is going to have only one film release in 2014 and its 'Happy New Year'. The masala entertainer also stars Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Boman Irani, Sonu Sood and Vivaan Shah in the leading roles. Directed by Shahrukh's close friend Farah Khan, the film is slated to be out in theaters in Diwali 2014. The film is one of the most awaited films of 2014.

Since 2008, Shahrukh has appeared only in one film per year - 'Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi'(2008), 'Billu'(2009), 'My Name Is Khan'(2010), 'Jab Tak Hai Jaan'(2012) and 'Chennai Express'(2013), except in 2011 when he did 'Ra.One' and 'Don 2'.
And unfortunately, 2014 isn't going to be a different year as he will have only one release in the year - Farah Khan's 'Happy New Year'.
However, Shahrukh has always made it sure that he puts his best foot forward with his every single film and it's always a treat to watch his films. And his fans have already started looking forward to his 2014 release 'Happy New Year'.
So, we decided to take a look at Shahrukh's solo 2014 film 'Happy New Year' and see what it's offering.
'Happy New Year'
Story -
The film is a story of five non dancers - Shahrukh Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Sonu Sood, Boman Irani and Vivaan Shah and a jobless bar girl Deepika Padukone. They participate in a dance competition which has around 10 teams from around the world and Shahrukh leads the Indian team. But there is a more to it as Farah has called it 'Heist-meets-musical' film.
Shooting -
The film went on floors on September 1 in Dubai where the crew shot for three weeks. A major part of the shooting took place in one of world's biggest and most beautiful resorts - 'Atlantis - The Palm'.
According to Farah Khan, Dubai isn't just a place in their film but it's a character. The happenings that tale place at 'Atlantis' leads the film's story to its climax, so the gulf city has very important part in the film. Also they will be showing their characters celebrating the New Year in Dubai.
The second shooting schedule of 'HNY' will be organized in Goa in October.
Budget -
'Happy New Year' is Shahrukh and Farah's third film together and Shahrukh is making sure that it turns out bigger and better than their previous projects. He has been spending a lot on the film's budget and Farah even called him a 'dream producer' in one of her interviews.
Lesser known facts -
'Happy New Year' was actually going to be the second film together for Shahrukh and Farah after their 2004 blockbuster 'Main Hoon Naa'. But for some reasons, they decided to go on with 'Om Shanti Om' first and thus it got delayed. Later, SRK and Farah had been going through some personal problems and avoided working together. However, when they made patch up last year(2012), the first thing they did was to revive the project and finally the film came out of the black box.
However, 'HNY' was expected to start rolling by early 2013. But once again it got postponed due to Shahrukh's shoulder injury.
Also John Abraham was the first choice for the role which is being played by Sonu Sood now.

'Happy New Year' is one of the most anticipated Bollywood Movies Of 2014 and Shahrukh is planning Diwali release for it. It's being produced under the banner of Red Chilies Entertainment.
