Electronic and Mechanical Combination Door Locks Eliiminate keys

Electronic combination door locks and mechanical combination door locks have many advantages over key door locks they have better security, are more economical and so convenient. Once you use one you will never want to go back to using a key again.

Weather your lock is mechanical or electrical both provide better security than a key door lock. The main security risk of the key door lock is even an amateur can easily open them without a key. The methods most frequently used are picking and bumping. Both of these techniques require no great amount of skill and information about how to do it is readily available on the internet and easy to find using search engines. The combination lock eliminates the risk of picking and bumping thus providing you with better security.

Another security concern could be the number of spare keys you have for your lock. The more keys you have the better the chance of one falling into the wrong hands. With a combination lock all you need to give your family or those requiring access to your building is the number or code. This combination number can also be easily changed if the need should arise after giving it to a serviceman who needs to access you building.

Changing the combination number so easily makes them more economical because you will no longer need to make expensive calls to locksmiths to change your locks. Cutting spare keys can also be an expense, which is wasting your money.

The two main kinds of combination door locks are mechanical and electronic. The electronic locks are very convenient in that they can have a backlit display for night as well as a soft beep, no more fumbling in the dark. With the advancements in electronic circuitry, they have become very reliable and efficient.

Mechanical combination door locks may not have some of the connivances of the electrical ones however they have the advantage of not requiring a power source. During times of electric or battery failure, this could be quite advantageous. Mechanical locks may also be more durable than electronic counterparts may, as they are not subject to the damaging effects of humidity or corrosion.
