- 1). Place your board so it's open and on a flat surface. This will make it a bit easier when laying out your photos to display.
- 2). Lay out your photos in a rough format, to make sure you have enough room for all of them. When you can, enlarge the photos so that a person can see them from 6 to 10 feet away.
- 3). Spread out the photos on the display board so that the person looking at the board can see things clearly and will have time to process. Don't completely cover the board with photos because this will be hard for the person looking at it to decipher what's going on.
- 4). Cut out any part of the photo that isn't necessary. You want the person looking at your display board to just get the important information. Be sure to cut the photo like the rest of the photos. For example, be sure that all the photos, no matter how big or small, are cut into rectangles. This will create uniformity and will be pleasing to the eye.
- 5). Type up captions in a clear, easy-to-read black font. These captions don't have to be in complete sentences, but should describe what is going on in the photo. The captions should be small as to not take attention away from the photos on the board.
- 6). Type out your name in a large, clear, colorful font to grab the reader's attention. Place it near the top of the center panel of the display board.
- 7). Cut out pieces of construction paper or card stock that will frame each photo with its caption and make it stand out more. Do this for your name as well. Cut out pieces of colored card stock that are bold, but not harsh. Avoid neon colors.
- 8). Glue the photos and their captions to the construction paper or card stock after you've laid everything out and are happy with it.
- 9). Glue these pieces to the display board. Let the board dry and then put it on display.
