  Dirt bikes are mechanical vehicles that are designed to go through rough terrain. They come in two- and four-wheel varieties. You also can use dirt bikes to perform stunts, such as 360 flips. However, only very skilled or professional bikers should attempt these moves. For everybody else, stunt dirt bike games can provide the fun of dirt biking without the risk.
  
  

'Stunt Dirt Bike'

• "Stunt Dirt Bike," a free online game available at the Games Freak website, features a four-wheel dirt bike. Players must ride their dirt bike over top of many obstacles, including tires, ramps, hills and trees. Carefully balancing your bike ensures that it won't crash. Controlling your bike is very simple. Players press up to move forward, down to move back and the left and right arrows to balance in air and on the ground. The "P" button pauses the game and "R" restarts a level. There are multiple levels that players must traverse in order to win. Once players get major air, they can hold the left or right button to flip and turn in the air. Landing these stunts gives you a boost in your score, which you can then post online to compete against other online players.
  
  

'Bike Stunts'

• "Bike Stunts," a free online game available at the Daily Free Games website, is a much more trick-oriented dirt bike game. While "Stunt Dirt Bike" focused a lot more on keeping your balance and avoiding crashing with some stunts thrown in, "Bike Stunts" focuses on performing wild tricks for points. Players press the left and right buttons to move in either direction. These are the only controls for the game, making it a simple game to play. Players ride up and down ramps and other obstacles on the bike course. Hitting a ramp throws your bike into the air. Holding down the left or right button will begin performing tricks. Players will earn all their trick points whether they land or not. However, failure to land will lose 2,000 points, while landing will earn you points. Players have three minutes to finish the course and do as many tricks as they can.
  
  

'Trials 2'

• "Trials 2," a free online game available at the Free Web Arcade website, is a sequel and simplification of the popular "Trials" dirt bike game. It's simpler because the graphics and controls have been downgraded and there are much fewer levels to play. However, "Trials 2" still features the tough and realistic physics of "Trials," as well as the great stunt-performing actions. Players press the up button to go forward and the down button to brake. They can then lean forward and backward with the left and right arrows. Players will have to master their balancing abilities in order to avoid crashing over and over again. Starting with too much gas can cause you to flip over while too little will make you fall off the ramp. Once players get used to the controls, they can perform wild flips and stunts over top of death-defying obstacles. Players can press the space button to bail off the bike. It's not useful, but can be amusing.
