For around $30 - $40 I'll tell you why I recommend this from personal experience.
See the Identity theft alerts, while being a useful service is too expensive, and it's not as good as actually reading over your report.
As long as you get your 3 reports every 4 months and monitor then then you have nothing to worry about.
You will also notice other things that will appear on your reports that an alert will not tell you.
Many people, Like me have had trouble canceling this service without hefty charges to their credit cards and a great deal of hassle.
The Federal Trade Commission has actually fined Experian, $1.
25 million for exactly this type of deceptive advertising.
They have changed little in how they conduct their business.
But all 3 are bad in this department so be warned.
So, don't get an identity theft alert form ANY of the three main credit bureaus, but know how important it is to check your credit report and make sure you're not a victim of identity theft.
Another way you can be caught out Never give your credit card details over email.
See there is a scam called Triangulation, this works by you signing up to get your credit report via a website that looks legitimate, they will then purchase your credit report using someone else's stolen credit card details - they will then send yo the report, and get you to spay for t via an email form.
Once they have your details they will then get the next unsuspecting victim.
