- 1). Load the film into the camera. On the back of the camera is a latch that releases the lid for the film chamber. Slide the latch to open the back. You will have to lift a knob on the side of the camera to allow the film to fit inside. Put the roll in the smaller compartment with the edge of film facing outward. Slowly pull out just enough film for it to reach to the end of the opening. Fit the film edge into the other side.
- 2). Turn the knob away from you to finish loading the film. This action gives the film tension and makes it fit in tightly. It only needs a little turn. Stop when the film loses slack. Make sure the holes in the film are fitted onto the small sprockets in the film chamber. You may have to press the shutter button for the knob to turn, or if there is an on/off switch on the camera, you may have to turn it on. If it does not turn on, insert new batteries. The battery compartment is at the bottom of the camera.
- 3). Close the back. Put the lid down, making sure it is shut securely. You may have to slide the same lever you did to open it, in order to lock it down. Wind the knob a couple more times to advance the film to its first usable negative.
- 4). Open the shutter. There is a button to push on the front or top of the camera to open the shutter, which exposes the lens.
- 5). Push down the large button on the top right to take a photo. There will be a window on the camera showing you how many pictures are left in your film as you take photos. There will also be a button at the back to turn on the flash. The flash can be used in a darkly lit setting, but it doesn't need to be turned on outdoors.
