Boudoir Photography - London Based Boudoir Photographer Explains Why it"s a Growing Trend!

Boudoir photography is a massively growing trend in the UK and it's no surprise. I can't think of any woman who wouldn't want to look beautiful and glamorous - without time travel or going on a strict diet! With the help of fashion celebrities such Gok Wan and his 'How to look good naked' TV show women are at last starting to love their curves and are discovering a new-found confidence to show off the figures that nature bestowed upon them

Boudoir photo shoots should not be confused with the dated and cheesy glamour photos of the 1980s. Also good boudoir photography should not bear any relation to the degrading imagery that can be found in some men's magazines. Truly talented boudoir photographers create beautiful works of art for their clients.

Women of ALL ages and sizes are seeking out professional boudoir photographers for a variety of reasons. As a boudoir photographer based near London, I find a lot of women who contact me are in their late 30s and 40s or older and often have come out of a relationship or are divorced.

I looked at all the different reasons people have had a boudoir shoot with me and these were the top 10 reasons:

1. A confidence boost for themselves after the end of a relationship
2. A sexy, surprise wedding gift for the groom
3. An anniversary present for their husband
4. A sexy Valentines gift for him (or birthday or Christmas present)
5. A gift to themselves to celebrate a special birthday (e.g. 21, 30, 40, 50)
6. A record of how they look before they get pregnant and have children
7. A fun and unusual idea for a hen party or gift for the hen
8. A record of how they look now before they get older
9. A well deserved pampering treat for themselves as a pick-me-up
10. Also men will often buy a photo shoot as a surprise gift for their girlfriends or wives!

Natalie, a working mum in her early 30s from Hertfordshire describes her experience
" I had finally decided to "bear all" to my very gorgeous man! Lets just say he LOVED the photos!
Thank you for making me feel comfortable and sexy€¦ (I never thought that would happen!) Speaking for the "chunky" ladies out there I can tell you that the photographer worked magic with her positions and lighting to make me look amazing€¦ Not only did I get brilliant pictures but I had a really fun evening!"

Gemma, also a busy working mum in her 30s from Bedfordshire booked a boudoir session as it was something she had been keen to do for some time and decided that a boudoir photo album would make the perfect wedding gift to give to her husband-to-be.

Gemma explains "Having booked my Boudoir shoot I was very nervous. I am a UK size 14, a mother and I have a body to prove it." Despite her nerves Gemma really enjoyed her shoot and described her images as "jaw dropping" and that she had no idea she could look so stunning. She also felt that her self-confidence shot up after seeing her photos.

Ruth from Buckinghamshire loved the whole fantasy around dressing up (in her case) as a 1950's Hollywood starlet. She says that her photo shoot made her "look and feel amazing, gorgeous and sexy" and left her with a feeling of new found body confidence. As a curvy woman who was about to bare all Ruth felt it was important to have a make-up artist and photographer who were friendly and made you feel at ease.

Whether the style is cute pin up photography, bridal boudoir, burlesque photography (think Dita Von Teese) or a tasteful nude photo shoot, the images should be classy and above all flattering regardless of the age and size of the client.
