Make A Difference To Indian Environment!

Below is my write-up of incidents following our India Trip. if you are inspired let us all join hands to raise collective awareness else you can disregard. Many a times I am dumbfolded to realize what a strong collective force we all are and if we utilize it in the right way, we can bring about significant changes in our home country, but the question is are we all trying it hard enough rather than just criticizing?.
Being abroad we get refined in quite a few ways, visiting India,  we keep thinking in how many different ways we could have made it better but things hardly change even though our country has the best in all, for all.
we dirty our own roads, streets, neighbors sites, historical places, temple premises as if they are trash holders. Ever since plastic usage has increased roadside garbage has multiplied in tons, it doesnt decay leaving room for many microbes-borne diseases. People who are educated and are in manager positions litter no differently than an illiterate Gaunwar", seeing this pathetic situation, it makes to wonder when will we change, when will the awareness rise in all of us collectively, do we have to wait for another era of imperialism? or do we wake up only when whipped?  Dont we live in our own country, doesnt the entire surroundings belong to us?. If we work together collectively we can bring about significant changes soon, our goal should be to make India " No 1" in the world!!  For that to happen, we need to come together, join hands, work collaboratively, talking to individuals we meet and raising their awareness levels as required.
If we have had oneness amongst us in finding our freedom back in the 18th century then I am sure we do have that oneness even now which will do that magic for us!. Question is can you be part of this?Where do we start? To me personally, the main problems that need to be addressed are
1. Lack of personality pride.(Being proud to be an Indian).
2. Littering
3. Noise Pollution
4. Righteous Living. To address the First problem, I believe we should instill a subject in schools on "Personality Pride" whose curriculum is geared towards oneness of living, collective thinking, global awareness Vs country awareness etc. This is happening in some spiritual schools  but needs to be made mandatory at the grass root levels. To address the other issues, here is what I/we did during our India trip in Jan 2010.
Bangalore's new airport is quite pretty, maintained well, we could see men and women co-working to keep it clean. The sad part is to see the airport authority women are made to wear men's attire (shirts and pants)  with no style difference. Are they made to wear this just to follow Foreign Culture?,  Indian women's attire is world class, what is the reason that forbids our own country designers, managers from seeing it and just letting women be women? I talked to the ladies in the airport, is this what you all are wearing out of your will? Have you questioned your manager about why you are being made to wear pants and shirts in men's style? etc.  The conversation began, they promised to question their supervisors collectively to bring about a change. Similarly, we questioned  the sales girls in shopping centers, janitors etc wherever we met.    Another incident was when I was in Hyderbad, we were infront of a jeweler's AC shop, my mother-in-law got a cup of coffee there was no dustbin around so I asked the shoppers if he can take the trash for me? He said,  "Take the dirt inside? No way, aap, phenkho.. baahar phenkhdo."  I told him, "So, Are you asking me to throw it in another room of your own house??" He couldnt talk, watched me hold the cup and carry it in car... Next incident was, when we were travelling to Shirdi, stopped for lunch at a Dhabha, all the Lehar packets, chips packets were thrown here and there, this time I felt it would be no use talking to the restuarant guys over there as they wouldnt understand or heed to listen, so started picking up the packets ourselves, the villagers and people were surprised around there and were wondering what is wrong with us, by the time I approached hotel pathway, one of the men had brought the trash can, without speaking a word  I put everything in it and he looked down.  Autorikshawalas, Lorries, buses unnecessarily honk 60% of the drive, when asked to reduce, they dont seem to care, happened to met one Auto driver who did not honk the entire drive period.Thanked him and said, could you please encourage your Auto fellow-men  to encourage "No -Honks" else we will all go deaf pretty soon. He promised to do so.Finally a day before my flight to US, we had a neighbours gathering of about 30 ladies and 6 kids, just spoke to them  about littering, non-usage of plastics, and to shift our mentality from running behind to catch up with western culture but instead be a proud Indian, to understand the depth of  our  own culture and to walk tall with pride. To serve our Mother Country in making it the best, because we have all we need but lack the perspective to serve and to be patriotic until someone else comes with a whip!. Bottom Line, Lets us join hands and bring in chage wherever whenever possible
