The Basics of Creating an Angelfish Aquarium

Most people end up keeping fish as pets because they require less care than dogs or cats.
This said, fish make excellent pets and as an owner, you have to make sure that your fish have the best habitat to live in.
One of fish that decorate several aquariums at homes is the angelfish.
This is primarily because this species of fish is available in beautiful and vivid colors and can make a dull and boring room shine and light up.
If you intend keeping angelfish as pets, then make sure that you give them the best aquarium to flourish in.
When you are purchasing your pets, you will be able to get lots of solid and useful advice from the pet store.
You can also use this opportunity to purchase some of the essentials required for an aquarium.
Here are some of the basics of creating an angelfish aquarium that will help you a lot: The first thing to ensure is that the aquarium is large enough to accommodate all the angelfish you have purchased or are going to purchase.
There is a ratio of fish to water that you need to follow.
If you have a single adult angelfish, you require 4 gallons of water for the fish.
Using this ratio, you can get an accurate estimate on big the fish tank should be.
In case you intend rearing adults and fry in the same tank, then make sure that the tank is double the size.
Temperature is very vital for angelfish to flourish.
So, buy a thermometer to help you keep a check on the water temperature.
When angelfish are breeding, they require a water temperature of around 80 degrees F.
In case you are not interested in breeding, then ensure that the water temperature is maintained between 74 degrees and 78 degrees.
In addition, spend some time figuring out the layout of the tank and what are the decorations you would like to use.
This will allow you to design the tank in such a way that it is pleasing to the eye and the fish will also find it suitable.
