How to Make a Christmas Tree Using Puzzle Pieces
Follow the directions I provide here and you can create a Christmas tree ornament using old puzzle pieces.
Let's begin...
Gathering The Supplies
Before you start any project it is easiest to gather together all of the supplies. For this project you will need:
Painting the Puzzle Pieces
Start off by painting your puzzle pieces. For my Christmas tree, I painted several puzzle pieces green and one brown. Let the paint dry.
Make the Base of Your Christmas Tree
Lay out several green pieces and your brown piece to form the base of your Christmas tree. You can follow my pattern or create your own.
Finish the Body of the Christmas Tree
Next, you need to glue more green puzzle pieces on top of your base. Glue these pieces to so they touch at least two base pieces. Be generous with the glue. Once the glue is dry, flip your Christmas tree over and add more glue where the pieces join together just to make it a little stronger. Once all of the glue is dry, you can give your ornament a protective coating using clear acrylic spray if you desire.
Decorate Your Christmas Tree Ornament
I used buttons to decorate my Christmas tree ornament, but you can use whatever you want. Glue your embellishments in place and let the glue dry.
Now you should cut a piece of ribbon about 8- to 10-inches long.
Take your piece of ribbon, fold it in half, and glue the ends to the top back of your Christmas tree. This will be your loop for hanging the ornament. Once all of the glue is dry, hang up your ornament and enjoy!
