- 1). Dry your herbs thoroughly in a dehydrator or an oven before grinding them, to prevent them from sticking to the grinder and mold from growing. Follow a recipe for your specific herbs, as different herbs take varying amounts of time to dry completely.
- 2). Make sure the inside of your grinder is completely dry before adding your dried herbs. Set the grinder upside down after washing to ensure that all the moisture drips out.
- 3). Add some of your herbs to the grinder. Add 2 to 3 tbsp. at a time.
- 4). Place the lid on the herb grinder and plug it in.
- 5). Push the button on the herb grinder to start the blade moving. Grind the dried herbs by repeatedly pressing and releasing the button for about 30 seconds.
- 6). Remove the lid and check your herbs. If there are still large pieces of herbs in the grinder, give them another 10 to 20 seconds of grinding.
- 7). Remove the lid of the grinder and set it aside. Pour the herbs into a storage container, using a pastry brush to remove as much as possible. Place a tight fitting lid on the container and store in a cool, dark place to preserve the flavor of your dried herbs.
