After getting clobbered by Blake Shelton's "Drink on It" for two weeks in a row, Rascal Flatts's "Banjo" finally fights its way into the #1 spot. It was about time, boys. But one has to wonder if Shelton's drinking-slash-love song was dying anyway (as its descent four spots to #5 might persuade one to conclude). Can't say the same about his spouse's tune "Over You," which advanced to #3 this week. And no, you can't keep Jason Aldean away; the country singer tips his hat at #4 with "Fly Over States."

Lee Brice is good, but he's not good enough to shake Lionel Richie from his #1 spot on the country album charts (3 weeks and counting). Another new record similar in style to Brice's Hard 2 Love claimed the bronze medal. That would be Kip Moore's Springsteen-ish Up All Night. The shake-ups continue at the bottom of the top 5, as the Josh Abbott Band's third studio album, Small Town Family Dream, punches in at #5. Also debuting this week, but failing to break the top 10, was new traditionalist Marty Stuart's Nashville, Volume 1: Tear the Woodpile Down.

At #23, "Banjo" tunes into a hit with FM listeners. (Sorry.) One notch down the dial, Miranda Lambert's "Over You" nudges out popster Carly Rae Jepsen's "Call Me Maybe" (at #25, but only momentarily). Meanwhile, the Zac Brown Band's "No Hurry" proves more resilient on the radio waves than it does on the country singles chart, advancing eight spots to #30.
