- 1). Be aware that if the shoe you are working with is an actual Gucci brand loafer, you will want to be very careful. Gucci brand loafers can be very expensive and are made of premium materials. Work carefully with supple leathers and sensitive soles.
- 2). Use a wooden shoe stretching kit to make sure that you get a uniform stretch. Plastic stretchers can bend and flex and ruin the actual shape of the Gucci loafer that you are working with. Insert the stretcher into the shoe to start the process.
- 3). Adjust the hinge-set screws and/or hinges on the stretcher to get to the point that you are happy with. Be careful not to over-stretch the shoe that you are working with. You will not be able to undo what you have done.
- 4). Shape the wooden shoe stretcher with sand paper if it is simply too big to place into the shoe. This will give you a solid point at which to start stretching.
