- 1). Complete the 65-hour pre-licensing course plus preparatory readings and pass the written qualification exam. After you have taken the course, you will have six months to become a member of the New Brunswick Real Estate Associate and apply for your salesperson's license.
- 2). Apply for a position with a real estate firm or agent. As a salesperson, you must have an employer and cannot have a salesperson's license on your own.
- 3). Complete the NBREA membership application form and pay the dues and fees. Membership in the NBREA is important as you will need a recommendation from the association later to complete your licensing.
- 4). Purchase errors and omissions insurance from NBREA. This insurance, required to work as a licensed salesperson in New Brunswick, protects you from financial claims loss due to errors, omissions or negligent acts while performing salesperson duties.
- 5). Procure a recommendation for licensing to give to the Department of Justice and Consumer Affairs, Consumer Affairs Branch, through NBREA. Once NBREA has given you a recommendation, submit your licensing application and pay the licensing fee to the Department of Justice and Consumer Affairs.
- 6). Submit an address for legal service in New Brunswick and to the jurisdiction of the New Brunswick courts to complete your licensing requirements.
