Red terror strikes again.Camp of the Eastern Frontier Rifles (EFR) of West Bengal was overun by maoist . 24 cops were killed in the attack.
Kishenji (India's baitullah mehsud) claims it to be revenge and has named these strikes as 'operation peace' against 'operation green hunt' launched by Indian government.
Now what does naxals want?. Well according to naxals they represent deprived classes comprising of poorest , tribals , dalit , landless workers. At local level naxals fight rich land owners , at state level they target police , IAS , Politicians.
Naxals believe that India didn't get freedom in 1947!!!!!!!. What we consider as freedom or independence were mere transfer of power from britishers to rich landowners , capitalist and their agents called politicians.
Ultimate goal of naxalites is to dismantle current Indian System of goverance and establish what they call as true people government and a class less society.
They are against present form of democracy and political system.
Naxal's concept is right in principal. India has highest number of poors in the world. Tribals , dalits and deprived form large part of Indian population and any development must be not be just for making rich more richer but at same time uplifting the deprived classes.
Yes there are lots of flaws in current system. We have corrupted system which is quite often manipulated by people with money , using corruption. Our democracy , specially in northern belt focuses more on caste factor and less on ideal goverance.
But no system is perfect and system can evolve and made better. Violence wont serve the purpose. Violence would infact help the negatives of system. Violence by naxals makes tribals more vunerable to face harsh treatment from the system.
Ironically in their quest of acquiring their goals the people they kill belong to lower middle class like train signal man , police constables . Whom they kidnap belong to middle class like some engineers!!!!!!!
Naxals are notorious in targetting schools too. The schools they target are public schools where poor and lower middles class people send their children.
Naxal's attempt to dismantle the current system would be dealt with serious crack down which in turn would send the very people whom naxal claims to represent in disarray.
Government's stand of crushing down naxal and following it up with rapid development is right approach in principal but what we would have to see is how that gets implemented.
