National Figure Skating Championships in the Championships Ladies division.
At the 1977 World Figure Skating Championships, she attempted two triple jumps, but landed only one. She placed 4th at that event, and retired from competitive skating shortly after that competition.
Barbie Smith was considered one of the most talented figure skaters in history. It is known that she performed with the Ice Capades in the mid-1980s, but after that, she left figure skating, and just seemed to disappear.
