Young people in the Atlanta area may dream of making it big in the music world, whether its classical, jazz or rock and roll. Parents often seek out the best way for kids to learn these styles or to introduce very young children to the beginning elements of music. Summer camps can provide a great learning experience for budding young musicians. There are several in the Atlanta area offering instruction in a variety of musical styles. - The Georgia Academy of Music has been serving Atlanta residents since 1973 as a non-profit music school offering lessons on all major instruments. If you're looking for a way to introduce your 3 ½ to 5-year old child to music, consider enrolling her in the Academy's Musical Beginnings Camp. The camp runs for three hours at a time in one-week sessions, each of which focuses on a different theme. Children should bring a lunch and drink each day. Musical Beginnings focuses on singing, dancing and playing instruments helping to build motor skills, coordination and muscle control as well as helping to develop the child's appreciation of music.
