A Rotating Lights Strobe Is A Very Effective Visible Warning Signal

Whatever situations our first responders race to, you can bet lives are at stake. The first responder's job is dangerous and full of hazards. There are many things they can do to keep safe, but one of the best and probably the most widely used ways is to advise of their presence and a lights strobe is the ideal way to do that. Visible 360-degrees in poor visibility, the lights strobe is the perfect way to warn of their presence. All emergency vehicles look different, and even have different color body and lights, but one thing they all must have is some form of hazard warning and thee lights strobe is a popular choice.

A rotating lights strobe is sometimes added temporarily to vehicles such as Doctor's on call. They need a reliable hazard warning and also to let people know they are responding to an emergency. A rotating lights strobe is ideal as it can be fitted magnetically or with Velcro. The beauty of a single strobe is it can be operated via the cigarette lighter on a vehicle so no other separate power supply is needed. Often other first responder's need additional lighting they can deploy in emergency situations and the strobe is a good choice of additional lighting.

Of course, most emergency vehicles have a light bar on top of the vehicle and sometimes inside the vehicle. These are very effective multi purpose lights, have a variety of different flash patterns, and can come in tiered lightbars. A single lights strobe however is something we all recognize and associate with emergency so it is an excellent hazard warning light. Other vehicles such as those on construction sites and used in municipal duties such as refuse collection have a lights strobe on the vehicle to warn people they are there.

We all know and love the old image of a police vehicle with a single rotating lights strobe on top of the roof. I certainly grew up with that image and it's one that sticks with me. It's hard to get used to all the flashing, hugely bright lights on first response vehicles now but they are more and more essential. Emergency responders are killed and injured on our roads every year, and many of these are due to them not being seen at a roadside accident. Even one death in such circumstances is one too many sadly.

The right visible warnings and audible warnings fitted on first response vehicles are lifesavers, and that is not an exaggeration. If there is a flashing lightbar, a siren and a lights strobe on the vehicle, then they are hard to miss. If you do see a vehicle at the side of the road with the lights strobe turning and there is an accident, please take extra care and be aware that first responders will be in the area and possibly in the road itself. A little extra care and attention on our part can save those lives and life changing injuries and that is something we all surely want
