Having clear skin is something that most people want. Use these tips to get clearer, acne-free skin.

1)    If you have acne, stress and pressure are probably causing it. Using relaxation techniques can not only help your mind, but improve your skin, as well. Engaging in relaxing stress-free activities can be of tremendous help in getting acne under control. Smoking cigarettes and drinking too much caffeine can also be related to acne problems, so consider avoiding both.

2)    Do not use tooth whitening products. If you're getting breakouts around your mouth, look at your dental treatments. Sometimes whitening toothpastes, tooth strips and mouthwashes can cause breakouts. The skin on and around your mouth is very sensitive and easily irritated.

3)    A great at home trick for getting rid of acne is the use of honey. Using some cinnamon and honey mixed in a bowl and applying it to your face for about 5-10 minutes can rid your skin of excess oil so that it looks smoother.

4)    You might get an itch you desperately want to scratch, but spreading the oil and dirt from your fingers onto your skin is a bad idea. When the pores get filled with dirt it will cause pimples.

5)    Say goodbye to body acne. Excessive perspiration can trigger breakouts, so it is very important to use a medicated wash and thoroughly cleanse skin after your workout routine.

6)    If you suffer from acne, choose a skin care product containing salicylic acid. In conjunction with another ingredient in skin products, hydroxyl acid, salicylic acid helps the skin shed more quickly.

9)    Apply Neosporin to any blemishes that have broken open to prevent infection. The cream contains ingredients that help reduce a popped pimple's redness and irritation. Simply use a Q-Tip to apply the Neosporin directly to the affected skin. Do not overuse it.

10)                       In order to take care of your acne, experiment with not wearing makeup for a while if you normally wear makeup, or switch to water based makeup. Covering acne with cosmetics can clog up your pores. Staying away from makeup will help your skin remain healthy and keep your pores clean.

11)                       To ward off breakouts, cleanse the face twice daily with a gentle cleanser. Use cold water to wash the residue off your skin. If you exercise, wash your face immediately following your workout. Although your inclination may be to scrub your pimples away, always wash gently. That won't help, and will even make skin breakouts worse!

12)                       Try a blemish stick to cover any blemishes that appear on your face. You will be able to hide only certain areas. The difference between thick concealers and blemish sticks is the ability of your skin to breathe when applied.
