Xat 2010 Results

Xavier Admission Test (XAT) is an all India level exam conducted for admission to Post Graduate Management Programmes in Xavier Institutes. This Common Admission Test is conducted by XLRI Jamshedpur (Xavier Labour Relations Institute), School of Business and Human Resources for more than 50 years. XAT score was earlier accepted only by Xavier institutes but has now extended to over 60 other Management Institutes in India like XISS, GIM, LIBA, XIMB, etc.

XAT entrance test is followed by Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI). XAT is an objective-type multiple choice test with three sections usually focusing on English, Math and General Awareness as following:

1.) Verbal Ability and Logical Reasoning
2.) Data Interpretation and Quantitative Ability
3.) Analytical Reasoning and Decision Making

After CAT and MAT, XAT is the most popular entrance test for taking admission in Management programs. The only difference in these exams is that unlike in CAT and MAT, a candidate has to write an essay in XAT entrances which becomes an important deciding factor for admissions to XLRI.

The duration of XAT is 140 minutes with 200 objective type questions and an essay of 250-300 words. The test is for 2 hours with additional 20 minutes for the essay.
The minimum eligibility to appear for XAT is a Bachelors degree from a recognized university or provisional admission for candidates in final year of their Bachelors degree. Even students with less than 50% in graduation can apply for XAT entrance examinations.

3.) 1 year full time General Management Programme (for working executives)

The registration for XAT 2010 entrance was open for three months i.e. 01 September 2009 to 30 November 2009. Students are given ample time to fill the forms for the institutes of their choice under XAT. Candidate need to apply separately to XAT associate institute after completing their XAT registration process.

XAT exam is conducted across 33 cities in India, metros and large cities generally have multiple test centers. Some of the cities are Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chandigarh, Chennai, Dehradun, Goa, Gurgaon, Hyderabad, Jamshedpur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, New Delhi, Noida, Pune and various others.

Almost one lakh students appeared for XAT MBA exam on 3rd January this year. Management experts believe that XAT 2010 was a lot tougher than XAT 2009.
XAT 2010 results will be announced on 31st January 2010. XAT 2010 has not yet modernized yet like CAT, it still needed a pen and paper. XAT results 2010 will be made available on its official website and newspapers.

XAT cut off 2010 is now the next thing everyone is looking forward to. All the major Management coaching centers are out with the expected cut offs for XAT 2010. After detailed research and analysis, the experts at Shiksha.com indicate at the following cut offs for various colleges:

XLRI-BM: 34+ (120 seats), XLRI-PMIR: 31+ (120 seats), KIAMS: 20+ (60 seats),
XIM-B: 31+ (120 seats), S P Jain: 23+ (120 seats), XISS: 15+ (75 seats),
IFM: 23+ (60 seats), GIM: 26+ (120 seats), LIBA: 24+ (120 seats), XIME: 23+ (120 seats)

This estimated projection helps prepare students for the upcoming results and in giving them an idea of their chances of getting a call from XLRI and other XAT associate institutes. After getting through the exam, candidates are required to appear for a group discussion and personal interview as demanded by particular institutes or colleges. Also, be careful before finalizing your MBA College, look into the placements and profiles offered by an institute before joining it. Have a great future!
