A leading UK clinic has released figures showing that by the age of 30, men worrying about hair loss decide to do something about it.
However, men even younger than this are now becoming increasingly concerned.
These days, recent statistics show that more young people than ever are experiencing this problem and by the time they are 30, decide to take action.
Figures revealed have shown that the number of men being treated is between the ages of 2l and 30 with numbers rising whilst the numbers decline as men age.
A senior specialist at one leading UK clinic has stated that these results take into account over 10,000 men currently being treated, with the largest proportion being young people.
Contrary to previous figures, where male pattern baldness used to affect men in middle age, two thirds of men will be affected by the time they are 40, with the suggestion that the problem is now rising in younger men.
Life is so busy in your early 20s, that pressure is caused by study, finding the right job, living in different places, all adding to the stresses and strains that can bring on this condition at an early age.
Many sufferers do not search for a solution to their problem due to lack of knowledge and embarrassment.
However, the number of young men being treated by the time they are 30 is increasing due to greater information about treatments and clinics in general.
During the last decade, names like Provillus and Minoxidil have been combined to produce promising results and in 1988, the topical hair restoration agent, Minoxidil was approved by the FDA for the treatment of hair loss.
However, if your condition is due to certain medications, cancer treatment, or the after-effects of illness, you need to talk with your health care professional about these other causes.
Most are temporary and do not need additional support.
Your doctor can advise you.
Hair loss in young men is certainly on the increase, due in part to modern day pressures, but fortunately, there are medical treatments to help with this problem without the need to take drastic action, such as surgery etc.
