It Is Six Months And You Haven"t Been To The Doctor?

Can you believe this? I have had this conversation with two of my brothers' ex-wives and a couple of my sisters. According to these women, they wait six months to maybe seven or eight months to go to the doctor. There is so much that can go wrong during and after the pregnancy. It is necessary to have the proper prenatal care to have a happy, healthy child.

Prenatal Care for pregnant women helps in the care of the baby and also the women during pregnancy. It is necessary to make an appointment with the doctor when you think you are pregnant. The doctor will run tests to see if you are pregnant. Also you will begin taking prenatal vitamins with folic acid and iron, which give you and your baby the minerals and vitamins needed that isn't found in the foods you eat. The exams by the doctor gives you the following information: discovering health problems early and making the cures for the problems available (examples are asthma, high blood pressure, diabetes, low blood pressure, etc.,); the mom is informed there is no smoking, taking recreational drugs, or drinking during pregnancy; xrays need to be avoided; the mom should eat healthy and drink plenty of fluids during the pregnancy; the mom is weighed every visit to make sure there isn't a large weight gain; the mom is informed to get plenty of sleep, stay active, avoid cat and rodent feces; urine and blood tests are done at different intervals during the pregnancy, including testing for AIDS; and the doctor finds out what medicines the mom is taking so he can let her know if she needs to stop taking the medicine, etc.

One of brother's ex-wives had delivered four children from him. She went to the doctor six to eight months of pregnancy. She didn't take the vitamins. She looked weak and tired. Her schedule was sleeping most of the day with no physical activity. After the babies were born, she fed them sugar water instead of baby milk. When the children's teeth began to come in, they all had rotten teeth. My brother had to take all the kids to the orthodontics, get their teeth pulled, and get a lot of preventive care before their permanent teeth came in.

This is an example of what not to do. There is more of a chance of birth defects, low birth weight, obesity taken on by the mom if the mother doesn't take advantage of seeking prenatal care for the baby and also herself.
