Platform Bird Feeders

Give Your Local Birds a Nice Place to Rest with Platform Bird Feeders

When it comes to purchasing a bird feeder, many people simply go on the design and style of the feeder alone without considering what the bird feeder is actually designed to do – feed the birds in your neighborhood. So, what usually happens is that people find a bird feeder that they like, buy some food for it, put all of the parts together and then hang it in their yard. A week or so may pass, and suddenly you realize that there are no birds actually eating from the feeder. After wondering why this could be and conducting a quick search through some online websites, you discover that bird feeders are not just a place for birds to get food, but also a place for them to rest and relax amongst the company of other animals from their same species. Therefore, if you want to ensure that your local birds enjoy their feeding atmosphere, you should consider looking into platform bird feeders.

There are several types of platform bird feeders that you may want to check out. The first, and far more stylish kind, hangs from a tree. These platform bird feeders resemble small houses or domes and each has its own little platform for the birds to stand on while they eat. Platform bird feeders constructed in this way are designed to hold a few birds at a time and will allow you to go more days without restocking the food supply in the bird feeder. On the other hand, you can purchase platform bird feeders that resemble the look of a table that you can place in your backyard. Platform feeders of this type are not generally as attractive as the kinds which hang from a tree, but they are great for feeding massive amounts of birds at once. Unfortunately with platform bird feeders of this type, you have to replenish the food practically every day.
