- 1). Measure the mouth of the glass vase. Fill the bottom of the vase with glass marbles. Cut off 1/4-inch to 1/2-inch from the bottom of the foam ball and set on top of the vase. Add more marbles if needed, making sure the marbles sit even with the bottom of the foam ball. The marbles act as a stable base for the foam.
- 2). Insert the stand of the topiary form into the foam ball. The form consists of a metal cylinder with a large foam ball on top. Press down on the form until the cylinder slides through the foam and hits the bottom of the vase.
- 3). Snip the end of each rose with scissors, creating an angled end to each stem. Run the flowers under fresh water. Insert the end of the flowers into the floral foam on the top of the vase. Cover the foam inside the vase with freshly cut flowers.
- 4). Fill the foam ball on top of the form with more flowers. Look over all areas of the vase and topiary form. Add more flowers as needed, until you completely cover both pieces of foam with flowers.
- 5). Spray the roses with cold water in a spray bottle, lightly spritzing each flower. The cold water prevents the flowers from drooping or wilting and keeps the roses looking fresh.
