When you look through your miscellaneous or should I say junk craft drawer, what do you seem to have the most of? When I open up mine there is so much ribbon I could never buy anymore and I would have plenty to last my entire lifetime with all the projects I could possibly ever want to do.
Who am I kidding though; buying ribbon is one of my many downfalls.
There are so many cute and fun ribbons out there.
I can go shopping and find a craft idea to do based solely around all the many kinds of ribbon out there.
I think that we have all gone to the craft stores out there and let's be honest, it is not exactly the cheapest thing to buy at the fabric store.
In fact sometimes depending on the type, it is more expensive than fabric.
I can help you all with these 4 little words, shop on the internet.
Oh my goodness the internet is my own personal shopping heaven.
Have any of you looked at how much cheaper ribbon is to buy online.
I have found it for almost pennies on the dollar compared to the big fabric stores.
You need to know what kind of ribbon you want to work with and the flexibility.
My favorite to work with is grosgrain, but there are so many more choices out there.
Grosgrain, organza, organza with satin edged trim, lace, and satin are just some types of ribbon.
Some are easier to bend and make beautiful bows that make you the envy of everyone at Christmas time.
Sometimes what is in the package does not matter as much as the appearance and we all know that a beautiful wrapped present under the Christmas tree is a must.
In fact I wrap empty boxes under the tree with big extravagant bows because I think it makes your home look so festive and if I put the real presents out, my kids would just snoop.
Who does not like the cute little bows that they put in a newborn little girls hair or making your little girl their own hair bows.
That is why I like using grosgrain ribbon best.
If you buy the 3/8" width they rare just the right size to line an alligator clip and make bows.
Bows are also fun to do with your little girl.
Ribbon has endless possibilities.
I dare you to go look in your drawer find some ribbon and add it to a picture frame or pillow lying around your house and notice the difference just a little bit of ribbon will do!
